Your share of every sale is sent to your own Stripe account. You set that account up once, through SplitPartner, on Stripe’s own pages.
How to do it
- On your dashboard, click Set up payouts. Stripe opens in a new tab.
- Fill in Stripe’s form: your name, contact details, the last digits or full number of your tax ID (in the US, your SSN or EIN), your date of birth, and the bank account to pay.
- When Stripe sends you back, you can close that tab. Your dashboard updates on its own when you return to it.
If you stop partway, the button changes to Continue setup and picks up where you left off.
Why Stripe asks for all that
Stripe is required by law to verify who it pays (“know your customer” rules) and, in the US, to report income for tax purposes. SplitPartner never receives your bank details or ID numbers; they stay with Stripe.
How long it takes
Usually a few minutes to fill in. Stripe sometimes takes longer to verify, especially if it asks for a photo of an ID or proof of address. Until Stripe says your account can receive transfers, the Payouts check stays yellow.
Once you’re set up
- Open my Stripe payout account on your dashboard takes you to your Stripe Express dashboard: your balance, payouts to your bank, and your bank details.
- Your share arrives in your Stripe balance right after each sale is recorded. Stripe pays it to your bank on your payout schedule. See When does money reach my bank?
If it’s stuck
- “Finish setting up payouts” won’t go away. Click Continue setup. Stripe shows exactly what’s missing, often a document or a corrected address.
- Stripe restricted your account. Your Stripe dashboard says why. Until it’s fixed, your share waits; it isn’t lost. The product may be paused if a partner can’t be paid.
- Something else. Email hello@splitpartner.com with what you see. A screenshot helps.
