Social platforms decide who sees your posts. Your email list reaches everyone who asked to hear from you. For most digital product sellers, the list is where most sales come from.
Start simple
- Pick an email tool. See Resources for ones we think are worth using.
- Make one free thing people in your audience want: a checklist, a template, a short guide. Small and useful beats big and vague.
- Put a sign-up form everywhere you already are: your bio links, your website, the end of your posts.
- Email regularly. Something useful, on a rhythm you can keep. Every week or every two weeks is plenty.
SplitPartner helps
- Your product’s early list collects sign-ups before launch, and you email them when it opens.
- Buyers’ emails are shown to the product’s partners, who own the customer list together. Only email buyers about things they’d reasonably expect, and follow the law (see below).
Stay legal and welcome
- Only email people who signed up. Never buy lists.
- Every email needs an unsubscribe link and your physical mailing address (the US CAN-SPAM Act; other countries have similar or stricter rules). Good email tools add these for you.
- Honor unsubscribes quickly.
Tip
When partners share a product, agree how each of you will email its buyers, so they don’t get the same message three times.
Still stuck? Email a person at hello@splitpartner.com. Say which product and what you saw; a screenshot helps.
