SplitPartner in five minutes

What SplitPartner does, what it doesn’t, and the path from idea to first sale.

5 min read

SplitPartner is for one digital product made and sold by more than one person. You agree on who does what and who gets what percentage, everyone signs, and buyers pay through one checkout. Right after each sale is recorded, every partner’s share is sent to their own Stripe account.

The path, start to finish

  1. Create the product. Name, price, a short description, and each partner’s email, role and percentage. Shares must add up to 100%.
  2. Everyone signs. Each partner logs in with the email you invited and signs the partner agreement inside SplitPartner.
  3. Everyone sets up payouts. Each partner fills in Stripe’s own form once. SplitPartner never sees bank details.
  4. Add what buyers get. Upload a file (up to 50 MB) or add a link, or both.
  5. Go live. The button works once everyone has signed and set up payouts, and there is something to deliver.
  6. Sell it. Use the product’s own checkout page, a free Sales Page Hero sales page, or a Buy button on your own website. Turn on affiliates if you want help selling.

What happens when someone buys

  1. The buyer pays on one checkout. The payment goes to SplitPartner’s Stripe account, which runs the checkout for every partner.
  2. Stripe takes its processing fee. SplitPartner records the real fee for each sale.
  3. If an affiliate sent the buyer, their commission is set aside and held 30 days.
  4. What’s left is divided by the percentages everyone signed, and each share is sent to each partner’s Stripe account as a transfer.
  5. Stripe pays each partner’s bank on that partner’s own Stripe payout schedule.

Every partner sees the same sales, fees and payouts on the product page.

What SplitPartner is not

What it costs

SplitPartner’s platform fee is 0% at present. Stripe’s processing fee comes out of each sale. The terms promise at least 30 days’ notice before any SplitPartner fee increase, and any fee shows in the partner agreement before anyone signs.
