Every partner has to sign before anything goes on sale. Here’s how to get everyone there.
Sending invites
On the product page, the Partners box lists everyone with three checks: Account (joined), Payouts and Agreement.
- Email sends the invite for you, when email is set up.
- Copy link gives you an invite link to text or message yourself.
The partner must log in with the exact email address shown in the Partners box. If they log in with a different address, SplitPartner can’t match them to the partnership. If they want to use another address, change it with a split change before they sign (only signed partners vote, so if nobody else has signed yet, that’s quick).
What everyone signs
The partner agreement is short and plain. It records:
- Each partner’s email, role and percentage, and that the split is worked out after Stripe’s fee (and any SplitPartner fee, 0% at present).
- That the product and its customer list belong to all the partners together.
- That refunds and chargebacks come back out of every share in the same percentages.
- That changes need every signed partner (or a leader, for everyday changes), and that the split and the partner list always need everyone.
- That a new split applies to future sales only, and a partner who leaves keeps their share of sales made under the split they signed.
- That each partner handles their own income taxes, and everyone follows the Terms and Seller Policy.
Read it with your partners before anyone clicks. Once you sign, a copy is always under View the signed partner agreement at the bottom of the product page.
Partners who haven’t signed
Partners who haven’t signed don’t vote on changes, and the partners who have signed can remove them. That stops one unresponsive invite from blocking a launch forever.
The agreement is a clear record, not a legal contract drafted for your situation. If real money or rights are at stake (a book deal, an existing brand, a big audience), pay a lawyer for an hour.
