Terms and Seller Policy
These terms are the rules for using SplitPartner, a GenX Alliance company ("SplitPartner," "we," "us"). By creating an account, signing a partner agreement, or buying through a SplitPartner checkout page, you agree to them. We wrote them in plain English on purpose.
1. How SplitPartner works
SplitPartner lets two or more people ("partners") sell a digital product together. A buyer pays on a SplitPartner checkout page. Payments are processed by Stripe. After Stripe's processing fee and any SplitPartner platform fee, the rest of each sale is split between the partners by the percentages in their signed partner agreement and sent to each partner's own Stripe account.
SplitPartner is the seller of record for sales made through its checkout. Partners are independent sellers. They are not our employees, agents or partners in any legal sense, and we do not create, own or guarantee their products.
2. Accounts and payouts
- You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract.
- Keep your login email secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- To receive payouts, you must open a Stripe account through SplitPartner and pass Stripe's identity checks. Your payouts are also governed by the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. SplitPartner never stores your bank details.
- If Stripe restricts your account, your products may be paused until it is resolved.
3. Seller Policy: what you can sell and how
Allowed without extra review: original ebooks and guides, templates and design files, graphics, photography and art, original software and apps, music and audio, party and event kits.
Allowed after review by SplitPartner before launch: business and marketing courses, affiliate marketing training, coaching programs, resale-rights (PLR) products, AI-generated products, and anything about health, money or investing.
One-time purchases only. SplitPartner sells digital products for a single payment: a file or a link. Subscriptions, memberships with recurring billing and payment plans are not available.
Not allowed: guaranteed-income or get-rich-quick programs; multi-level marketing, pyramid schemes or pay for recruiting; selling followers, likes, views or traffic; pirated or unlicensed content; adult content; gambling, betting or paid sweepstakes; cannabis and drug products; credit repair and debt relief; crypto schemes and NFT resales; unsafe health products; and anything illegal or prohibited by Stripe's restricted business list.
Every seller and partner agrees to these rules:
- Describe your product accurately. Buyers get what the page says.
- No guaranteed earnings or unrealistic income claims. Results you show must be real and typical.
- No fake reviews, testimonials, purchase notices or earnings screenshots.
- Own it or have permission. You must have the rights to everything you sell.
- Show the full price and the refund terms.
- No fake urgency. Countdown timers and "limited" claims must be true.
- Deliver what you sell and answer customer complaints within 3 business days.
4. Partner agreements
Nothing goes on sale until every partner signs the product's partner agreement inside SplitPartner by clicking to agree. The agreement records each partner's role and percentage. By default the product and its customer list are owned jointly by all partners.
- Once partners have signed, every change to the product (its name and description, price, delivery, thank-you page, sales page, launch pages, affiliate settings, the split and who is a partner) needs the approval of every partner who has signed. Partners who have not signed yet do not vote, and the partners who have signed may remove them.
- Partners may elect a leader, by everyone's approval. The leader may change the name and description, price, delivery, thank-you page, sales page, launch pages and affiliate tools alone, and every partner is notified each time. The split, who is a partner, and affiliate commissions always need every signed partner. Any partner may end the leader role at any time.
- While a change waits for approval, the partner who proposed it chooses whether sales continue as they are or pause until everyone approves.
- Changes apply to future sales only. Each sale is divided by the split in force when it was recorded.
- If partners disagree, SplitPartner keeps paying out under the last signed agreement. We do not decide disputes between partners.
- If a partner leaves, they keep their share of sales made under the split they signed.
5. Fees
Stripe's card processing fee comes out of each sale before the split. SplitPartner may also keep a platform fee, which is shown on the product page and in the partner agreement before you sign. We will give at least 30 days' notice before any fee increase.
6. Taxes
- Sales tax: as the platform that collects payment, SplitPartner is responsible for collecting and paying sales tax where required. Sellers should not add sales tax to their own price. Checkout does not add sales tax at present. If SplitPartner starts collecting it, partners will be told before it starts, and any tax collected will be shown on each sale and taken out before the split.
- Income tax: each partner and affiliate is responsible for income tax on their own share. Stripe may send you a tax form, such as a 1099, when you pass the IRS reporting limits.
7. Refunds, chargebacks and holds
- Every product must state its refund policy on its page. Unless it says otherwise, digital products can be refunded within 14 days of purchase.
- Refunds and chargebacks come back out of every partner's share in the same percentages as the split, plus each partner's share of any dispute fee.
- You agree that SplitPartner may recover your share of a refund or chargeback by reversing the transfer to your Stripe account, by taking it from your future sales, or by invoicing you.
- For new partners or products under review, SplitPartner may hold part of each payout for a limited time to cover refunds.
8. For buyers
When you buy through SplitPartner, you are buying a product made by the partners named on the checkout page. Stripe processes your payment and emails your receipt. Access to your purchase appears on the thank-you page and may also be emailed to you. For questions about a product, contact the sellers or email us and we will pass it on. To ask for a refund, reply to your receipt or contact us.
9. Affiliates
- Joining. Partners choose whether a product takes affiliates and set one commission rate for it (all partners must agree to the rate; they may agree a different rate for one affiliate). Affiliates apply, and any one partner may approve, decline or later remove an affiliate.
- How commissions are worked out. A commission is the affiliate's percentage of what the buyer paid, before any sales tax, for a sale made through the affiliate's link (the latest affiliate link the buyer used in the past 30 days). It is set when the sale is made and comes out before the partners' split.
- The 30-day hold. Each commission is held for 30 days after the sale in SplitPartner's Stripe account, to cover refunds. This is not an escrow or trust account, and no interest is paid. If the buyer is refunded during the hold, the commission is canceled, or reduced in proportion to a partial refund. After the hold, it is sent to the affiliate's own Stripe account, once the affiliate has set one up. A refund or chargeback after that may be taken back from the affiliate in the same proportion.
- Affiliates must: tell people they earn a commission whenever they share a link (as the FTC requires in the U.S.); never send spam, buy their own products through their link, bid on the product's name in ads without the partners' OK, make false claims or promise results, or post fake reviews. Breaking these rules lets the partners remove the affiliate and lets SplitPartner cancel commissions earned that way.
- Taxes. Affiliates are independent, not employees or agents of SplitPartner or the partners, and are responsible for their own taxes. Stripe may ask for tax details and issue tax forms.
10. Enforcement
We may remove a listing, pause payouts for a product, or suspend an account that breaks these terms. Serious or repeated problems may be reported to Stripe.
- First issue (for example, a missing refund policy or an overstated claim): a notice and 7 days to fix it.
- Serious issue (a product that isn't allowed, fake reviews, fraud): the listing comes down right away and payouts may be held while we review it.
- Appeals: email us within 14 days of the notice.
11. The legal fine print
- SplitPartner is provided "as is." We work hard to keep it running and accurate, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free.
- To the extent the law allows, SplitPartner is not liable for indirect or lost-profit damages, and our total liability to you is limited to the platform fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
- You agree to cover SplitPartner for claims caused by your products, your marketing, or your breaking these terms.
- We may update these terms. We will post the new date at the top and, for important changes, email you first.
- These terms are governed by the laws of the State of West Virginia.
